Percent Checker

Check percent-of problems by converting the percent to a decimal and multiplying.

Example: 15% of 80 is 12

How this checker works

Percent problems often become easier once the percent is translated into a decimal. This checker handles the common “what is p percent of a number?” format. Enter the percent, the whole amount, and the student’s answer. The checker divides the percent by 100, multiplies by the whole, and compares the result to the response.

The feedback shows the decimal form of the percent and the multiplication step, so students can see whether the mistake came from conversion or multiplication. It works for whole-number percents, decimal percents, discounts, tax-style calculations, and quick answer-key checks. It does not solve every percent word-problem structure, such as percent increase or finding the original amount. For those multi-step questions, upload a photo of the worksheet so Gradulo can inspect the full problem context.
